    XLOOKUP for specific value

One of the forum members was kind enough to give me a formula for an issue I was having. The formula is =XLOOKUP(1,FILTER(Materials!$V$2:$FO$1411,Materials!$E$2:$E$1411=A10),Materials!$V$1:$FO$1,"",0). The formula works but there are some values that round up to 1 that provide inaccurate information. Is there a way to restrict the formula to only look for values that are an exact match to 1, and not results that have rounded up?

    Re: XLOOKUP for specific value

A formula can't distinguish between values that have been rounded and ones that haven't. Let's see the wider context.

There are instructions at the top of the page explaining how to attach your sample workbook (yellow banner: HOW TO ATTACH YOUR SAMPLE WORKBOOK). Screenshots are of little practical use as we cannot manipulate them.

A good sample workbook has just 10-20 rows of representative data that has been desensitised. The sample layout accurately matches that of your real data. It also has expected results mocked up, worked examples where required, relevant cells highlighted and a few explanatory notes.

    Re: XLOOKUP for specific value

I am looking at the workbook attached to your other thread - which values are rounded and why? Do they need to be rounded? If not, then that's a way forward.

As I said, provide a more detailed workbook showing the real set-up.

You have marked this as SOLVED - what was the solution you used?

    Re: XLOOKUP for specific value

My boss decided the information causing the issue was superfluous. The original solution works great!

Thanks for letting us know. For future reference, this didn't really need a new thread - you could have asked in the original thread.

I was under the impression we couldn't post different questions in the same thread, especially ones marked solved. I'll be better next time.

    Re: XLOOKUP for specific value

It wasn't a different question: it was a tweak to an existing formula that you were after. And any thread can be marked as unsolved if you need extra help.

If it had been a completely new issue, then a new thread would have been appropriate.
