i have a set of events that i need to assign a value based on two criteria. one criteria is a number (total score range from 1 to 15) and the other criteria is text value that can be one of 3 classifications (major, moderate or minor). Another table has a set of values associated with each possible combination of the two criteria (the table is attached). Each combination of total score and classification has a numerical value, so the table has 45 cells of values to choose from based on the intersection of the 2 criteria. I then need to compute an aggregate value for all events.
What i would like is to do is enter a formula that will select the value from the data table based on the two criteria entered for each event. I cannot figure out how to do this...any assistance is greatly appreciated!
Example of main sheet:
Column1
Row1: event name
Row2: total score (#1-15)
Row3: Classification(text -- major, moderate, minor)
Row4: $$$ Amount (from separate table based on cell selected according to values of row2&row3).
