I am just trying to get to grips with arrays and a little confused.
I have the following text entered in cell A1:
A1001 A1002 A1003
How do I make Excel take those three distinct pieces of text (i.e. A1001, A1002 and A1003) to an array?

Am not sure I have fully understood you question
if you are looking to separate the text over 3 columns then there is a command
Data\Text to Columns
Select the cells you wish to change
use the delimited option and tick space as the delimiter.
If this is not the problem then please add some more detail.

I have a two column list of about 100 rows that has entries including A1001, A1002, A1003.
In another worksheet I have a column with cells that contain text strings eg "A1001 A1002 A1003". So they are not separated and I cannot use a formula or text parsing to separate them out because they are surrounded by other data.
However, I was thinking I could take "A1001 A1002 A1003" to an array which I could then take to a SUMPRODUCT formula to return a value from the two column list.
Hope that makes sense.
