    Exclamation keeping links active between workbooks when a user moves linked workbook

    Hi all,

    Here is my problem;

    I two workbooks: MCDAnalysis.xls and MCDHistory.xls

    I am pulling some data from the MCDHistory workbook to MCDAnalysis, as you can see below, using paste link.

    ='C:\Documents and Settings\Bodem 96\My Documents\Course Material\Acct 480 - AIS\AIS Project\[MCDHistory.xls]Balance Sheet'!B10

    When I move the MCDHistory workbook from" C:\Documents and Settings\Bodem 96\My Documents\Course Material\Acct 480 - AIS\AIS Project\ "to ,say, my desktop, I am getting an error message stating that the source of links cannot be found. I know it is normal to get this error message.

    What I need to know is this:
    Is there any way to keep the links active in my MCDAnalysis workbook even when a user moves the MCDAnalysis to a different folder?

    I know that I can update the source document's location from the edit-links menu option, but I need excel to do this on its own.

    You all probably got the idea.

    Thanks everyone
