Function Help! Working with data in Workbooks

I submitted this question and got no response, so I will try a different Title and see if that helps.

What is the simplest way to do this?
I have a huge database that is imported into Excel from Crystal Reports. Column A is items codes and Column C has the ending quantity. In aother worksheet called Line Counts, those item codes are also listed, but scattered throughout another huge sheet. And we currently re-enter all the line counts into this sheet.

What I would like to be able to do, is have the Line Counts spreadsheet automatically updated with the information from the imported file. My first thought was to go to the cell in the spreadsheet, and just simply say (= and the cell number of the ending quanity in the imported file). However, as items are added to this imported report, the cell location will change. So I was wondering if there is a way to have the spreasheet look at the item names rather than the cell. I don't think I am explaining this well....I will try an example:

    Imported File:
    Column A, B & C
    Row 17 BUS / BUSINESS LINE CHARGE / 1560

    Spreadsheet
    Column J & K
Row 30 BUS / (This should equal Column C Above)

Do I need to use somthing with the IF Function so I can reference the item name of BUS? That way, if BUS is not in cell A17 next month it will still work.
Sorry....I tried to explain best I could.
