    ifsum slows down calculations

ifsum is a very good tool to use in Excel however if I use it overmany
hundreds of cells it slows the PC calculatuions to stop. HAs anyone
else had this problem, if so is there a solution?

    Peter,

If you mean that the time taken after entering data is excesive then you can
either set the worksheet calculation to Manual:

    Tools > Options > Calculation > Manual

or consider using a pivot table to do the summing.

The problem with both solutions is that they do not show the answers until
the sheet is recalculated with F9 or the Pivot table is refreshed manually.

Care to post the formula(s) which degrades the performance?
