    Question DSUM Switched Off?

Excel threw me a curve. I was helping some students with =DSUM today and in one machine only got a "0." On mine and other PCs it works fine -- in only one it doesn't and repeated tries only returned a "0" in the cell. Other functions work okay. It's as if the database functions were somehow turned off. Can anyone please tell me what I can try to get the DSUM function "turned on" and working properly?

    Thank you in advance.

There's no such thing as "turning a function off". If your DSUM
doesn't work as expected, check carefully the contents of the
criteria range and ensure that you don't have text values
masquerading as numeric in the lookup range.
