When I attempt to copy my flowchart to Word, the words inside the boxes are
missing. I copied without gridlines. And I used the copy paste function.

I have no problems copying and pasting into word, did you add the text by
right clicking the shape and selecting add text or do you have text in the
cells beneath the autoshape? If the latter you can't expect it to copy since
you don't copy it if the flowchart is selected. You might be able to copy as
picture (select the cells covering the shape(s) and hold down shift and do
edit>copy as picture) but you will get more than the shape

Try to use paste speical as a picture in Word.
