Changing formula result to text?

Hi

I have a spreadsheet which as the result of a formula displays a number. I would like this number to appear in another cell as a number and not linked to the formula. So when the formula recalculates with up to date figures there is a record of the result of the previous calculation.

It is a monthly result - so thereby every month the figure changes but I want a historical page showing these results over a year.

I hope that makes sense! If not please ask me to try and explain further.

Does anyone know if this is possible and how it is done?

The simple way is to select the results and copy them, then paste special values, on top of themselves if necessary

If you want something more fancy you will have to give more details
