.....by change just the date. For example, the worksheet has data from several workbooks, which have dates as names, ex. 010106. There are many cell references to a particular workbook and many different workbooks. New workbooks are created with data that needs updating from the previous workbook. For example, if I create a workbook today 090506, I want it to be able to change one date and the cells reference 090406, 090306, 090206 data.

Currently, I have to go into each cell and update the date(name) of the workbook. For example if current workbook cell A2 has formula
=sum("090406"!B1) and I want it to chabge to =sum("090506"!B1), I have to go in and update the workbook name. I could use find and replace, but would rather change one cell and the links update automatically. Meaning if I could change A1 cell from 090406 to 090506, any cell referencing workbook with 090406 will update to 090506 workbook data.

There has to be a way, but I'm no excel guru. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
