    Rankings

    Hi
    Hoping someone can please help?
I have a worksheet set up as a draw sheet for a tournament. I have a set of rankings showing all points collated from last tournament. What i want to do is set up a formula/macro so that a cell containing a player eg. the winner will be found on the ranking list and the points won will be added to the next cell on the ranking list.
    any ideas anyone?
    Thanks

Can you post an example as I'm not clear on what this means

points won will be added to the next cell on the ranking list

    What Points ??

Need to list Winner points, rank 2 points etc and what the next cell is ??

    Will try,
The draw sheet is set out as eg. cell a1 = runner/up, b2 = winner. say the winner is joe bloggs he will get 20points for winning.
In a separate worksheet set out for the rankings. joe bloggs is already in the rankings from previous events. I want the spreadsheet to look for joe bloggs, who on this occasion is in winners cell and add the 20 points to a cell next to his name on the ranking list.
    Very difficult to explain
    Thanks for looking

    Hi,

    Still not clear. You say

won will be added to the next cell on the ranking list.

Is the ranking list got name, rank and running total. Is the new value add to a new column or the same column

    Please be more specific

Display data in draw sheet and ranking sheet . Please your expected results

if so- i am trying to get the rankings worksheet to look at singles sheet, work out eg. the winner (from the winners cell) locate the name on the rankings sheet and add it to cell I3 as wayne smith was winner. each one will be different.

    Carim,

He wants some kind of lookup from sheet SINGLES COMPETITION to add results in the Rankings sheet.

E.g Winner Wayne Smith gets 21 in I3
Runner up Nathan Cullen gets 14 in I14 etc

Then I asume he wants the raning to autosort

    Changing links

    Hi
I have a worksheet with multiple cells linked to another worksheet. Is there a quicker way to change the links from one worksheet to another. All the links will correspond to the same cells on a different worksheet, just need to change the destination worksheet.
    Thanks in advance

    Thanks, that works a treat.
Another one for you, I have created a drop down list which works fine. I would like to increase the size of the drop down box to enable me to see more data, is this possible?

    Hi,

For the benefit of all, a new question deserves a new thread ...
Meanwhile ... yes it is possible with a small event macro

assuming your data validation is located in cell A1
