Need an Alternative to "Rank" function

    Hey Excel-types.
I have a database program that I designed in excel that works amazingly well on a computer...and I wanted to use it on a palm pilot with the "Documents to Go"/"Sheet To GO"program.
The only problem is...the RANK function isn't recognized.
I need to come up with some sort of an alternative.
It's very simple what I'm looking for.
    .......A............B.........C
    1..Person 3....12.....#3
    2..Person 9.....3......#1
    3..Person 11..14......#5
    4..Person 13..13......#4
    5..Person 14....5......#2

The old formula in column C would have been: =RANK(B3,$B$1:$B$5,1)
Sheet To Go does not support the use of macros, buttons, and pull down menus within a spreadsheet. These features primarly are run using Visual Basic code in Excel. This code type is not supported on the handheld and it would required DataViz to translate the code into the language used by the Palm OS.
The supported functions in "Sheet To Go" are at: http://support.dataviz.com/support.srch?docid=13709
    Any suggestions?

In addition, it won't do array functions...
so, I'm trying to figure out another alternative...
it does do the MAX function...
so, I can tell what the biggest number is, how many other numbers there are with count-ifs...now need to mathematically rank them...

    Hi,

It is a real challenge because small() and large() functions are not available either ...
If I have a moment, I will dig into this issue ...

RANK is basically just a representation of COUNTIF, so you can use that instead (which I believe is available, according to that website). So in C1:

    =COUNTIF($B$1:$B$5,"<"&B1)+1

    copied down.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks!

I just tested it in Excel (of course I forgot my Palm at home), and it worked!
I'll let you know if we're 100% on the Palm, and it looks like we will be!
    Thanks a ga-zillion!
