    drop down list

    Hi All,

Is there a way to create a drop down list in a cell, where the availabe values are displayed in the list as:

    1 - Permanent
    2 - Correspondence
    3 - Business

but once selected only appear in the cell as either 1,2 or 3?

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks both of you.

Currently to create my lists I have the relevant data in a range of cells on another sheet (and use the INDIRECT method in the source box)

What's the best way to make the source data non viewable or editable to other users?

    Hi again,

You can use Indirect() or Insert Name Define to give a name to your source range ...
In both cases, just hide the worksheet if you do not want your users to see it, or rather, modify it ...
