If ages are located in range A1:A20, use following ...
=Average(A1:A20)
It depends what information you have...
If you have dates of birth in B1:B10 for instance then one way to get the average age (in years)
=DATEDIF(AVERAGE(B1:B10),today(),"y")
OK that is helpful. what if i want to know average age in years and months? how would i do that?
