Using the Active Sheet within a calculation

    Hi all,

Is it possible to use "active sheet" within a calculation in say Sheet3 to find a value in Sheet1 or Sheet2, depending on the "active sheet"?

    Sheet1 "a1" = 10

    Sheet2 "a1" = 20

Sheet3 "a1" = (calculation that returns 10 or 20 depending on the active sheet)

    Many thanks,

Don't think you can in Excel, MIGHT be possible within VBA, but how do you check???
If you switch to sheet 3 to see the results, you've changed the 'Active sheet' again...
A picture may be worth a thousand words, BUT, a sample Workbook is worth a thousand screenshots!

You are welcome, just sorry I could not supply a better answer...maybe a button to determine which sheet you are on... I really cannot see how to do this without someway of locking which sheet is current,,sorry
