calculation with a row value and percentage

It has been so long since I've worked with Excel. What I am trying to do is take a value in the rows that are in one specific column and add 10% to it then place the new value in a different column in the same row for each row calculation. Anotherwards if an item in one row and column cost $28.00 in a few columns over I want to place what the total value would be if I added 10% to it. So how do I write a formula for this to fill up an entire column for about 3000 items? So about 3000 rows. I'm sure it's a simple calculation, I just don't remember how to do it. If anyone could answer this for me, I sure would appreciate it. Thanks.

    =A2*1.1

where A2 houses the original value
Where there is a will there are many ways.

That only worked for the first row in the column

That only worked for the first row in the column. Is there something else that I have to do? I still have close to 300 items that are in rows. But thanks.

    3000 not 300

    just copy it down.

click and hold the little black square at the bottom right corner of the cell with the formula in it and drag down as far as you need. The A1 will change to A2, A3, A4, etc....

If the column is G, still put as A??

I am a little confused. If the column I need to do the calculations on is G, why A? Thanks

column A was an example, since you didn't originally supply specifics.

If the first number to multiply is in G2 (i.e. column G, row 2), then use =G2*1.1 and drag that formula down using the method previously described.
