    Sum total for names

Can someone please explain to me how I can get a sum total for all the people I have on my roster without having to create a seperate column? For example, I have a roster with names and I want a number to represent how many people I have on my roster. I have attached a copy of the roster.

Sounds like you might need the COUNTA function.
