need to have the sum funtion below a set of changing rows

i am using a file in which the height of the row changes every time i select any option what i want is that the sum of all the items shud appear exactly below the rows..
lets say my data consists of
A B C D
SRNO HARDWARE CPU $100
CD-ROM $50
CABINET $45
------------------------------>TOTAL: $195
NOW IN THE COLUMN B I HAVE A DROP DOWN WHERE I MAKE CHANGES AND THE ITEMS IN THE COLUMN C CHANGES SO I WANT A FUNCTION WHICH WRITES THE TOTAL IN D AFTER PRINTING THE ITEMS FROM THE ITEM IN THE DROP-DOWN B ..THE DATA IS ON OTHER SHEET..
