    24 hour time problem

    Hi all,

I am trying to enter 24 hour time in excel. Now I've set the cell format to hhmm but whenever I enter say 1325 it comes up with 17/08/1903 12:00:00am. Now I understand that it is reading this as 1325.00 which means the 1325th day since 1/1/1901, but I want to just enter 1325 and have it display 1325 and read it as a time?

    Make sense?

    Little help?

    thanks mama,

    works perfectly.

now the next part. in the cell A1, i have 13:25 and then in c1 i have 16:45.
in D1 i have c1-a1 which gives 08:00, but i want it to subtract lunch. IF I put 0.5 or 1 (hours) into b2, i can't simply do c1-b1-a1. so how can i do this?

    make sense?
