Smile hyperlinks on cd's which chg root drive designations won't work??

I am trying to catalog a huge library of pdf documents within "LIBRARY" directory and numberous subdirectories of "LIBRARY" which contain related documents in each subdirectory.

I'm trying to use an excel spread, located in "LIBRARY" as the table of contents, with hyperlinks to each document located in the varying subdirectories of "LIBRARY". I then shall, at intervals, burn "LIBRARY" and all its subdirectories to CD/DVD and distribute among several users that need easy quick search and retrieval for these documents.

PROBLEM: Each hyperlink carries a full path statement, looking to the exact drive it was originally created on by me. Works just fine if I don't try to burn from my hard drive (C for example) to a CD, which may then be used in various drive designations....D:, F:, etc. and none of the hyperlinks work because the cd drive has a different root path. The hyperlink returns a "file cannot be found".

I've spent several days working on this and it's driving me nuts. Anybody have a solution? (has to work on Excel 2007 back to 2003) thanks-david
