    Attempting to subtract time for a 24 hour period

    The following code is what I currently have in a spreadsheet. I am attempting to develop a time card where time is automatically calculated, but having trouble converting the over night shift.

    "=if(h13-d13*24>8, "8",if(d13>h13, d13-h13*-24,"")"

    The times are not accurate and the line of code seems to be jumping straight to the second part of the statement. Can anyone assist?

    Perhaps?

    =IF((H13-D13)*24>8,8,IF(D13>H13,(D13-H13)*-24,""))
    Where there is a will there are many ways.
