auto complete words that already appear in the same colum

This very helpful command has worked in the past for me but I had to dump and have my computer reloaded and now I can not get this function to work properly.

I have a spreadsheet and in colum b line 4 - 62 I need to fill up with enteries. I have a list of the most commonly used entries that I use in line 79 - 388. on line 4 when I try to type in a word and right click and pick from list it only gives me a list of words that appear from line 79 - 102 and it does the same till I get to line 53 and then it will give me choices from line 79 - 103 then on line 54 it gives me choices from line 79 - 104 and so on. I have gone through the tools menu and set the auto complete but it is not working. Does any one have any suggestions for me.

Thank you for taking the time to read this and try and help.

Auto complete only works with the most recent entries above, if there is a blank cell the list basically starts over again

    Hi

Do you have data in column A or C that overlaps the 2 ranges in column B?

Are there any blanks in the data in B79:B388?

Are there any defined names that intersect in any way with this broad area?

I have data entry in colum a from lines 4 right through to line 388 with no blank lines and in colum b I have data entry from line 79 through to line 388 with no blank lines.
