    Question My color has disappeared

I use color for text and cells. All of a sudden the color has vanished from my screen, but I can still see it in the print view and it prints with the color. I have tried every tool/option I can find. My IT even reinstalled Excel. Any ideas? Thanks, Cindy

Hi Cindy - This is unusual as I didn't find anything promising in a quick search:

    Questions:

    1. Is this happening on one worksheet or globally on every spreadsheet you are processing? I'm thinking your symptoms apply to all spreadsheets:

    2. What version of Excel are you using?

A couple of quick things to try:

    1. Set for normal worksheet view (in case you are in another mode)

    VIEW >> NORMAL

    2. Ensure color pallete is properly set and available

TOOLS >> OPTIONS >> COLORS >> Press Reset button

    3. You might rename your Normal.DOT to Normal.Bck (work with the Tech folks on this) and there's also they can start Excel in Safe Mode

    No luck

Thanks for your quick response. I am running Excel 2003 and this is happening across the board on all my Excel docs. I can log onto another computer as myself and pull up any of my docs and the color is there, but when I go back to my computer, the color is gone. Thanks for the suggestions; I tried them again and still no luck. I am waiting for my IT guy to try the last one. If you think of anything else, please let me know. Cindy

Hi Cindy - One other troubleshooting idea is to have the IT Guy also logon as himself and launch Excel. That will set up another Excel Configuration in a brand new Document and Settings area ... I'm thinking that if all the Excel settings were "zapped" in the Document and Settings area for your specific login account that might cure the problem. I'd recommend the Technican not delete any application settings until you all zero in on the issues. You might want to print this off to share (as these are even retained during an uninstall/reinstall. The only bad news here is that all of your current settings will go away as if it were a brand new install.

    C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USER ID]\Application Data\Microsoft\Excel

P.S. You might want to print this off to share
