    Date forumula..

    hey im currently creating a spreadship in the company i work with and we are trying to compare purchase date of all dell equipment to the current date to see exactly how old it is,we have been asked to do this dell as part of our maintanence contract..apparently thts wot the boss man ses anyways. i am totaly useless at excel so was wondering if there was a forumula i could create to do this

    Presuming the current date is in cell A1 and the purchase date is in cell A2 then you can use this formula:

    =+A1-A2

    Once you have done that you will need to select the cell and change the formatting (format->cells) to a generic or number format (it will be a date format and look very weird by default).

    The above formula provides the number of days old.
