    Counting duplicate values

    Hi Guys,

Im just trying to count the duplicate numbers in column A (user id) of the attached sheet. I need to know how many instances of each number I have. i.e how many instances of the number 4, 35, 50 there are etc etc. I have 5 of these sheets which i need to do this on. Any help would be much appreciated.

    thanks

    Hello

    Hi sjg,

Use the IF & countif function. Example is =IF(A2=A1, "", COUNTIF(A2:A1310,A2)), go to C2 and paste this formula, then copy the formula up to A1310. This formula counts how often multiple number values appears in a given range and the if function is just to put blank if it had already counted the number.

    IF and Count Function

    Hello,

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, you can try the formula above for text too.
If you find any trouble on this just post your questions.
