    Pivot table & language dependency?

I have a pivot table that I also use with vlookup to return values into a different table.

My version of Excel is in english. When I transfer the file to someone with Excel in French and they open it there is no problem, all the data is where it needs to be.

The problem is if they refresh the data on any pivot table instead of using the term 'Total' it changes to the french equivalent 'Somme'. As such my vlookup no longer works as I am looking for a string such as 'RESEARCH Total'.

Is there any way to bypass this issue in removing language dependency? Any other suggestions?

    Cheers
    John

Since no one seems to have any answer, just to let all know that I bypassed it by setting up some custom IF(ISERROR...) statements to look for either the english "ABC Total" or if not found then look for "Somme ABC" (as example).

    What a mess....
