Deleting contents of cell results in formula

I am building a model where a user may select a default dataset using a drop-down. Depending on which option is selected, a matching data set is imported into an array on a different worksheet of the model. The user may want to go into that array and remove or modify some or all of the data. They may also want to revert to the pre-populated data.
Is it possible to set a default value on a cell such that if a user deletes the contents , it defaults back to a referenced cell?

The logic (in my mind) would look something like:

    1. If the formula in this cell is overwritten with a number, then the number.
    2. If the value of this cell is null (i.e. the user has deleted the contents of the cell) then S18.

I know – its goofy – any ideas out there?

    Thanks!

Can't do it with a formula.

    Try to event macro.

Right click sheet > select view code > paste in the below (Change range to your range) then close VB editor
