    Proof/Safety Valve formula

    Please review the attachment.

The mission is to insert a proof/safety valve formula to ensures that the 2.0 special project monthly expense are all accounted for.

    Tab 1-list of travel expenses
Tab 2-Travel worksheet that separate each text into columns-Column S from this sheet identifies the 2.0 special group expense by month. Unfortunately, I'm unable to decipher the majority of these MID,LEN formulas (what's the purpose of those anyway??)
Tab 3-Travel Summary-This is where I need to insert the proof/safety valve to ensure the accuracy of column C.

TIA for any assistance on this quest

    Hi

    3) If the proof is the sum of column F where column S > 0 then

    =SUMIF('TrAVEL worksheet'!S2:S175,">0",'TrAVEL worksheet'!F2:F175)

    2) Those formulas are used to parse the string in the first sheet into the relevant columns. Have a look at the help file on the LEN and MID functions, then have a play with some text and see how they operate.
