    Lightbulb Nw how do i extract text from a text seperated by a dash.

    It really worked like a charm however i need to also get some more help based on the same logic..

    My data in cell A2 is a mixture of text, special characters and numbers..

    Lets say my cell contents are as follows..
    A2 = Population - 5 miles
    A3 = Education - 5 miles
    A4 = Crime - 5 miles..

    Now im interested in getting the test on the left of the dash "-", the crux is that its not of the same length ( i.e. - Population contain 10 characters , whereas Education - 9 characters and Crime - 5 character )..

    So how wud i get the words?

    Try text to columns using "-" as a delimiter
