counting function? maybe?

I am hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I have a spreadsheet that contains all the employee’s locker assignments here at work. (Some 3000 people). Some employees are entitled to 2 lockers others to 3 lockers and some only have 1 locker and then the office workers do not have any lockers at all.. I am after a function that would tell me exactly how many people have lockers.


Could someone get me started with this one?

The columns are not lining up but I think it is still understanable.

As you can see I have to account for employees with the same name. employees with mulitple lockers, but should only be counted once. I am after a total number of people in the locker room (each bit of information is in a separate cell)
