    blank cell vs $0.00

I am using this code in a sheet, and it works fine. I just have one thing i would like to do with it... often, I am giving a customer a 100% discount, such as throwing cables in with their order, without charging them.

When I put 100% in column I, i just get a blank in my cell, and I would like it to say $0.00. the only time i want it blank is if i am not using that row for anything.

G is my unit cost, and I is the discount i am giving them.

    hope this makes sense

    Hi there,

It may be that the Zero values option is turned off. For XL 2003, you can check it (and turn it on if it has been turned off) by following these four steps:

    1. From the Tools menu select Options
    2. From the Options dialog box, select the View tab
    3. Ensure the Zero values options under the Window options is ticked by clicking in its' adjacent option box
    4. Click OK

    thanks robert,

i use excel 2002 but it was the same and sure enough the zero values was turned off. after turning it on, i have a new problem. it puts zeros in every row all the way down the page, even if i'm not using that row.

I would really like to have it do 0.00 only when i have something in column that row. for instance, in row 1, i charge them 100.00 for an item. then row 2 i give them a free cable, but i want to put my retail price so they can see the value of what they are getting.

no problem so far.... but now in the other 15 rows that i am not using, i have 0.00 displayed in the discount column, which by the way is row H.

so is there a way to get the zero value, only when column I, (my percent of column) says 100%?

Otherwise, it looks funny with these 0.00 all the way down the page.

i hope i am making sense here... kind of hard when you cant see the sheet yourself.

    Thanks

I think (based on your original posting) that the following formula maybe what you're after:
