    date, link n calculate

    hi..need some help here..

i want to develop training schedule which link with training budget...
i hv 2 sheet now..1st sheet is for training schedule n 2nd sheet is for training budget summary...

if i put a course date in a cell (in 1st sheet), how can i link it to the 2nd sheet, so that 2nd sheet will read the fee for that course and automatically calculate the balance of my training budget. Appreciate if anybody can help me with the formula. I hv attached my worksheet if u want to have better understanding on my inquiry. Thanks

    Before entering date:

    1st sheet

Course Name Person 1 Person 2 Person 3

    2nd sheet
    Actual Budget 200,000.00

    Budget Utilised to date 0.00

    Balance 200,000.00

    After entered date

    Course 1 = $ 1,500
    Course 2 = $ 1,000

    Sheet 1

Course Name Person 1 Person 2 Person 3
    1 Course 1 13-14 Mar 08
    2 Course 2 2008

Try the solution on sheet 1 of the attached.

Uses vlookup & named ranges and should manage an expanding list of courses / students well.
