    Smile If function w/ variable?

    Hi All!!!

I was wondering if something was possible...

I want cell c9=(j9/6)/k10 <-- good so far
However, i don't want the value that is returned in cell c9 to be greater than 7, if it is, I want the differnece to be displayed in cell d9

so if the value of (j9/6)/k10 = 10, I want "7" to be displayed in c9 and 3 to be displayed in d9...

I hope that made sense? Can anyone help?

    Thanks a million

    Hi there,

Please see the attached file for a possible solution.
The downside to it is that the formula (j9/6)/k10 is coded 4 times.

A better option is to add an additional column to the sheet in which you put this formula and refer to it in the other formulas.

    Hope it helps

    Talking Resolved!!

    Thank you soooo much!!!

It was exactly what I was looking for.

I really don't care how much it was coded, I was trying to avoid using another column. So it's perfect.

    Thanks a million!
