remove text after and before specific words

    Good day everyone,

Is there a formula that removes unwanted text before and after specific word(s) within a cell? See below for an example.

    "Enteredon02/11/2008at15:12:12byAdamHeskett:Clientinqonstatusofswitchingtofaxclient.EverythinghadbeenchangedinPASSaccordinglyexceptremovinghisnamefrcalllistforinput.Also,refaxedcoversheetstoclienttouseeachtimehefaxesinpayroll.Enteredon10/22/2007at14:22:44byparkerti:CLIENTwillbefaxinginpayrollgoingforward.Enteredon10/22/2007at10:47:04byLucyFatovic:NotesadvisethatclientwillbeafaxclientbutthecompanyhasbeenchangedtoaRUnAsIs.Justwanttoconfirmastowhichsetupheshouldbe.Enteredon10/11/2007at14:55:47byparkerti"

I highlighted & underlined the unwanted text (in this case it's the time) after the text "Enteredon02/11/2008at" and before the word "by". Within this cell, there are 4 unwanted texts that should be removed.

    Your help is appreciated.

    unwanted texts

Unfortunately, I can't because it can contain several unwanted texts in a cell and / or range of cells. If we are looking for removing 500 unwanted texts, then we do not want to go to that route (find and replace).

Well Find/replace takes wildcards, so maybe trying
    Find :"at*:*:*by"
    Replace with "at by"
    ( without quotes)
    Or the like

Unwanted text before and after a specific words

    thanks for your help!arthurb

The problem I noticed with the find and replace is that I always get an error "Formula too long". But it is okay, Rylo has built a VBA code that will solve this issue.

    thanks again!
