    Working out 2 way Total Problem

    there are some clever people on here so here goes

    Basically i want the total row of the 4 numbers to come to 100 and the total column to come to 100,

    all the rows currently add up to 100 but if you add up the numbers in the columns they dont add up to 100, i can convert the numbers so the coulmns add up to 100 but then the rows dont add up to 100 anymore

    can anyone help ,, many thanks

    so
    A1:D1 = 100
    A2:D2 = 100
    A3:D4 = 100
    A4:D4 = 100

    and
    A1:A4 = 100
    B1:B4 =100
    C1:C4 = 100
    D1:D4 = 100

    HERE IS MY EXAMPLE DATA

    in Cells A1:D1 i have numbers adding up to 100%
    A1 = 75.77
    B1= 14.74
    C1 = 5.38
    D1=4.10

    in Cells A2:D2 i have numbers adding up to 100%
    A2 = 14.29
    B2= 23.21
    C2 = 37.5
    D2=25.0

    in Cells A3:D3 i have numbers adding up to 100%
    A3 = 69.0
    B3= 17.5
    C3 = 10.5
    D3=3.0

    in Cells A4:D4 i have numbers adding up to 100%
    A3 = 9.39
    B3= 18.68
    C3 = 33.33
    D3=38.60

    Hi,

    I assume you're trying to use the same 16 numbers - all different, and arrange them so that row and column totals are equal.

    What makes you think there is a solution?
