    Finding text in a list, and returning the row next to it.

    Attached is a small list of people, and the cell next to that name has an issue. I'd like a formula that looks through the list and will return issue for each person... see attached.

    You could use a pivot table to group them

    I don't think a pivot table is what I need. I can't have them grouped, they must remain in the random order that is generated on the list (like a FIFO system). I just didn't know if there was a formula or function that can scan through a list, pick out a name and return the value in an adjacent cell.

    Using OFFSET Function

    I would like to use an OFFSET function to return the value one column over.

    I'm still having troubles getting a formula to pick the first name in the list, and then pick the same name's below.
