Count values in one column depending on value in a second

Hello again,

I have a table as shown below, i need to count the number of "dn"s that also have a date in the second column:-

dn
dn 01/01/2008
lt 01/01/2008
dn 01/01/2008
sa

The answer i need here is 2 as there are two rows that contain both "dn" and a date.

I've messed around with sumproduct but have lost the thread completely.
