    calculating percentage

I am new to excel and I am trying to generate a product price sheet.

I have one column for retail price and I want to create another column that is 15% off of the retail price.

I'm sure it is simple but I've been trying to figure it out for a while.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you. I'm afraid I need more help though. I don't know where or how to enter that info.

Hi if your column of retail prices is say A1:A10, enter the formula I gave you in B1 and copy down as far as necessary.

If your prices are in a different column, then obviously you need to adjust the formula for a different cell reference.

    That was very helpful thanks.

Actually I forgot that I need to make it a little more complicated.

In my Quick Books item list, I have it calculating 15% and then rounding to the nearest .25. Can I add more to the formula to get it to round to the nearest .25?

I feel like a genius because I figured it out on my own.

I used the =MROUND(A1,.25) formula and it worked!

    I'm beginning to love Excel!

    Thanks again for the help.
