    Adding numbers within a total

    I want to create a numerology worksheet with 5 columns, (see attachment)
    The final column should add the separate numbers within the total. For example, the birthday Nov. 18, 1949 is listed as 11/18/1949. All numbers are added together to total 1978. But then I want to total the "total" numbers as 1 + 9 + 7 + 8 (in one cell) to equal 25.

    How do I format the final cell?

    One more variable...

    Yes, thanks. That's it precisely!

    Now...in my example the final total of 1978 came to 25, which has to be added / reduced once more to a single number. How would I write a conditional formula that would automatically reduce the total, 25, to 7. (25> 2 + 5 = 7)

    ie. if the birth info total is two numbers, then automatically add them and reduce to a single number - without adding an extra column)
