    Exclamation Hide Formulas Without Protection

How can I hide my formulas so that they can't be overwritten without protecting my worksheet? Is this even possible?

No, it's not. But you do know that you can protect a workbook and still allow users to alter cells don't you? Just change the cells format so that it's not locked (all cells are locked by default).

Exclamation How Can I Merge Protected Cells?

    Thank you for your reply.
The problem with turning on protection with editing allowed is that now I can't merge cells - which I still need to do. How do I do that?

You can't I'm afraid. With Excel 2002 onwards you can opt to allow formatting with protection turned on, which applies to just about every formatting option except merging cells.

You can go to the Format Cells tool, Alignment tab, then under the Horizontal tab, choose Center Across Selection. It provides almost the same effect as merging.

    Exclamation What About Validation?

I can validate a cell to display a warning and not permit any information to be entered by allowing any whole number less than 0 to be entered, but this does not prevent someone to delete the contents of the cell. Is there a solution to this perhaps?
