Last entry of specific value in formula...?

Hope someone can help me with this.

I have a sheet with over 30000 rows and need to complete it with a couple of formulas.

Problem: In one of these formulas I want to specify a value by instructing excel to look for it this way:

Need Excel to return a value from column G on the same row as the last entry of the value A502 (i.e. the value in cell A502) in column A. This value occurs quite alot of times.

    Hope I got that right...

    Might be a LOOKUP-formula

will return whatever from column g that is in the same row as the last value that =a3
so you can replace a3 with anything
say a cell outside your range and in that enter the value you want to search for

this is an array formula and must be entered with ctrl+shift+enter this will put{} brackets around the formula
    so it lookes like this
