    Conditional Formatting Problems

I have a couple of spreadsheets with tables in each where a user will enter data into two rows of coloured cells. A simple devision calculation is performed on the entered data and the result is displayed in a third row. Depending on the result, a red or green cell shading indicates whether a comment should be provided.
The different spreadsheets are linked to a consolidated spreadsheet by a simple referenence where I have graphs, etc. relating to the information. These files sits in a shared area on the network to allow access to relevant users.

My problem is that the colours of the cells sometimes change randomly (conditional formatted cells, shaded cells, graphs, everything!) and stays changed even after I opened and closed the file. Is there a setting that can prevent this?

    Regards

if you format cell A1 conditionally so that <0 is red and >=0 is green, the colour will only change as the value in A1 changes. However, if the value in cell A1 is dependent on the values in 3 other cells, changes to any one of those MAY change the colour in A1.

Suggest you send us a small example, anonymised if necessary, explaining the problem more fully.
