However, I've just realised that I actually didn't describe what I actually needed.
Instead of showing the MAX value in my previous example, I wanted to count the number of unique values for Option 1 and Option 2.
Example
A B
---------------
Option 1 10
Option 1 10
Option 2 8
Option 1 27
Option 2 43
Option 2 28
So the formula would return the following results;
Option 1 count = 2
Option 2 count = 3
I tried to use the above examples with a SUM< IF FREQUENCY formula, but it didn't seem to carry through.
The value range that I am counting includes numbers arrived at through formulae.
