    Cell REF# Error

I have an extensive excel sheet that has pages getting data from other pages within the document. It is about a 7 page document. All the pages pull data from the first page document. Sometimes when people insert data on page one, the other pages get a ref error in certain cells.
    EX:
    Sheet 1 cell A1- Hi
Sheet 2 cell A1- =Sheet1!A1 (Thats what the formula is)
Then when i look at cell A1 on sheet 2 it says #REF!

Is there a way I can prevent this happening or someone tell me why this happens?

as you display it there i see no reason to display #ref
sheet1 a1 looks to be referencing another cell

I know, thats what I thought too, but sometimes it still comes up like that, I have even locked the sheet's so that no one can delete the rows or columns. Deleting the rows or the columns is the only way I believe that could happen, but in this case it cant happen because they are protected.
