    Conditional Formatting

I am doing some work with conditional formatting and currently have about 25 rules.

I need to apply approximately an additional 100 rules. These will be practically the same as the ones I have already created but with slight changes to the variables.

Is is possible to copy and paste the existing rules and then modify slightly?

Can you give a few more details, and examples of what you mean by a rule? It's not immediately clear how 25 'rules' relate to conditional formatting, since of course there are only three standard conditional formatting options (in pre Xl2007 versions). Are your rules a series of IF....() tests perhaps?

I am using Excel 2007. The rules I refer to relate to AND statements e.g. =AND (5000000<J2,60<M2) and dependant of these rules applie a certain colour to a cell.

    Hi,

I'm not familiar with all the changes in Xl2007, but assuming the principles are the same, the short answer to your original question is Yes. Just copy the cell in question, then select the column letters of all the other columns to which you want to apply the CF and PasteSpecial Formats. Then edit where necessary and do another copy pastespecial.
