Avoid duplicates - How to create a new list from two lists???

Stupid question of the day #237:

I have a large list of names and corresponding phone numbers in an Excel .csv file. Each time I get a new list of names and corresponding numbers there are always some duplicates, how do I merge the two lists together so I only get numbers from list #2 that are not already in list #1?

I am sure this is super simple, but I just don't know how to do it.

In Excel 2007, there is a remove duplicates button.

In Excel 2003 or earlier, you can

Select the area
Select - Data - Filter - Advanced filter
Select Copy to new location, put a cell address in the 'copy to' box and tick the unique records only checkbox.

Maybe I didn't make it clear..

I need to keep the first list intact.. let me explain what I want to do.

The first list has names and number that I have contacted.

As I get more lists, some of the names and numbers are duplicates.

I want to be able to add the original names from the second list to the first one, but what I really need is a second list that will have the original names and numbers from the second list so I can contact them.
