If function of a range

See attached jpeg. i essentially typed out what i want it to do. If column C = a cell in column E then I want the cell to have the corresponding value in Column F.

So for Sue i want to get a value of 9 with the formula and Tom a 5 and loren a 7 and so on. Tried to use a sumproduct formula and couldnt get it to work either....any suggestions?

Maybe i am missing something but can you not use VLOOKUP?

=VLOOKUP($C3,$E$12:$F$17,2,FALSE)

here's a better explanation...So i have a list of names in column A and a corresponding list of names in Column E with a acronym associated with those names in column H. So i want the correct acronym to be put in column C and i just want to be able to copy and paste this formula down to apply to a long list that i have...thanks, So If A6= E14:18 then H14:18 where If A6 is equal to E15 then H15 will be the end result and same with A7 will give me H18 as a result...hope that helps
