I have created a wedding payment sheet. what i did on the first page was write all the companies and what the total payment was. in the column next to that i put unpaid balance. on the second sheet i have a running list of payments made and to what company kind of like a check book. What i need the formula to do is recognize the company name, take the payment i made and subtract it from the first sheet, giving me the current unpaid balance.

Does anyone have any suggestions! my brain is fried on this one.

Assuming that your second sheet has all payments in it.

Assumptions
Sheet1 has company name in column A, Total bill in B and unpaid balance in C beginning in Row 2
Sheet 2 has company name in A and payments in B from Row 2 to 1000
