Hi I am doing a lost and found worksheet for work and I am trying to have the labels sheet where if I entere the item #, it will fill in the details from the Found sheet. Can you please help me out with the vlookup code.

I tried looking the code up, but just can't get it right. Thanks for the help.

Hi ratcat, you are my hero!! That is exactly what I am looking for. Thank you so much!!

Now another quick question, is there anyway I can search in excel base on drop down menus?

ie: if I just want to for cell phones, can I do some sort of search to locate a list of cell phones?

    G'day again,

Well..the way I look at it is two ways.

    First

Press Ctrl+F then type in the phone number. Then three options are click on "Find All" or "Find Next" and the third is with options for the mention two types of searches.
Btw the hypen in the phone number is not needed in the search.

    Second

If you want a drop down list you will have to customise it and rearrange the spreadsheet. Because you have a vlookup formula looking at the drop down list value and I'll information in the right order for the vlookup to work.

To customise the drop down list it need to make the drop down list a dynamic list. Its for when you add phone numbers to that list.

    Hope this helps
