Filtering data by a Criteria column

My data is 9 columns by 1044 rows. Column 1 is the "Location Code" for each row of data. "Location Codes" repeat as column 2 has eight possible values. I have a criteria list of Location Codes for which I only want to see data for.

Once filtered, I then want to Subtotal the numerical values in column 3 by "location code" (column 1). I'd like the subtotal list by location code to be displayed seperate from the data.

I've made multiple attemps to use the Advance Filter option and don't seem to be doing it correctly. Any help is welcome.

    Smile Hi

Try subtotal instead of Advanced Filter.....

Keep the cursor in the First column heading....
Select the entire range of 1044 Rows by pressing Ctrl+A.....

    Click Data > Subtotals ....

    Give the following options :-

At each change in:- "Location code" - select the column heading...

    Use Function:- Sum

Add Subtotal to:- "Column3" give the column 3 heading...

    Click ok

    Hope this helps u

    ...but what about....

the rows of "Location codes" that I don't want SubTotaled?Your answer only addresses the second part of my question.

I'd like to filter those out based on the Criteria List of Location codes that I have.
